headline news

Do you ever buy a set, with every intention of using it, and find that it just fights you every step of the way?  Well, Background Basics: Newsprint is that set for me.  Try as I might,  I can't seem to finish a card that I like that uses this set.

Being St. Patrick's Day, I had every intention to use Luck of the Irish and lots of greens and gold, but time got away from me.  Like, really, who`s gonna make a St. Patrick`s Day card when the day is pretty much over?  Instead, I whipped this little 4 x 4 notecard up (instead of cooking dinner *heehee*).  It uses green so I think it counts.  Plans to celebrate today fell through so I shall be celebrating tomorrow with my favorite Irishman.

Hope your St. Patty's Day was happy!

I think you did a fine job using BB Newsprint here! I really love this card, the doily is outstanding! I'm getting that set with my March order (hopefully tomorrow ;)

Wow, superb creation.

I really like the background here. Very subtle, but a really great base for the doily (which I'm still afraid of!)

I love your card. I understand your feelings about the newsprint set. I just bought it this release hesitating for the same reason. I see myself using it as a very subtle background like you did. it looks great that way.

Well, I think the way you used the newsprint set looks great -- and I love the ticket. I just ordered that die and set this release and can't wait for it to arrive. (Of course, it bumped the doily set from my cart...) The green embossing on the doily looks great!

I hate sets like that! Though I think you conquered it here, it looks great! I won't touch that doily set, heehee.

Beautiful! I like the colours on the doily, and the background is perfect - well done! I'm too intimidated by the newspring background stamp myself.
