cute as a button

Last week I needed a quick card and literally cranked this out minutes before going to meet mom & son. I went a little stamp-crazy on the background but am really happy with the way this turned out.

Okay, I've never been one to gush over making baby cards but I think I'm a new convert. Baby cards are just so stinkin' cute. And to think, it all started with that yummy ribbon. I fell in love with the combination of pattens on it. But, the fact that the middle is stretchy and has a perfectly ruffled edge sealed the deal. Now if only it came in other colours. *sigh*

Thanks for dropping by. And if you've got a second, please leave a comment. I love the feedback!

Happy for You

Just a quick post. I've been stamp-happy lately and getting lots accomplished on the cardmaking front. There's such a freedom in simply using what you're inspired to use and letting the mojo have free reign.

I love this combination of old and new prints. This fun & happy card started with the daisy print from BasicGrey's green at heart collection (I {heart} BasicGrey). The fab summer dress was pieced from the Egg Drop Soup collection by Jillibean Soup. The picnic plaid is a retired K&Co print from their Sea Glass collection.

Hope you like it!!

Stamps - dress (Crescendoh), sentiment (Enjoy the Ride - PTI)
Ink - fresh snow (PTI), rhubarb stalk & tuxedo black (memento)
Paper - yellow (SU), green onions (JS), plaid (K&Co), emerald (BG)
Tools - med. scallop die (PTI), labels three (nesties), sponge daubers

Sew Lovely

I have a confession to make. I went on a buying frenzy just before life took a turn for the crazy-busy. So, even though it's been weeks since I've sat and stamped, I have so many sets that need to be inked.

To make up for lost time (and to appease my guilt over the number of sets that are en route to me), I hereby pledge to do a few cards with each new set before moving on to the next new thing. Wish me luck!

The first newbie I cracked open was sew lovely from the uber-talented Kelly Marie over at Lawn Fawn. I love her stuff!! She has such a whimsical style and the quality is beyond phenomenal. Really, they stamp like PTI. No joke.

My second card uses the same focal image (I love the dress form) but focuses more on using some of my latest dies and tools. Can you guess what they are without scrolling to the bottom of this post?

Well, I'm off to ink up some of the other images in this set. They are just too cute to put away in a box just yet. Thanks for stopping by!!

College Bound

Just a little notecard for a young friend from church who'll be heading to college in the fall. Yes, it's a little early for back to school projects, but the end of summer is often a blur of activity with very little time for stamping.

In my continued efforts to thin out my cut paper container, I made this 4 x 4 card using an extra base from my Honey Bees note card set. All of the patterned papers were left over from previous projects. Do you recognize which ones?

Supplies:
Stamps - Enjoy the Ride (PTI)
Paper - solid (PTI), prints (BasicGrey, We R Memory Keepers)
Ink - Tangelo & Paris Dusk (Memento), Creamy Brown (ColorBox)
Other - Rhinestones (from my stash), Clear EP (Stampendous), Paper piercer (MM)

Good, Girly Fun

This is a card that I had submitted a few months ago to PaperCrafts that didn't make the cut. I don't remember what the call was for, but the colour combo rocks. Pink, black, & white are fantastic together! I especially like how they work for girls of all ages.

I'm often a little unhappy with my attempts at creating my own patterned paper. But, I absolutely love Dot Spot for this technique because it always turns out well. The varying sizes of images make it so easy to create a well balanced background. The sentiment is one of my favorites from Signature Greetings. I REALLY would love a SG Additions. I just love the mix of block text and handwritten fonts. And most of them fit perfectly into the Fillable Frames series of stamps & dies.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Stamps - Dot Spot, Signature Greetings, & Fillable Frames #2 (all PTI)
